I’ve said it before in this post but I’ll say it again: do not sleep on the new Banana Republic. I find myself eagerly checking their new arrivals, and one of my latest purchases from the brand is this yellow cutout dress.
Now, before you mentally check out after reading the word CUTOUT, please don’t. I typically like to try new trends, but the cutout one was not on my list (along with the resurgence of low rise jeans – never again)… until THIS DRESS.

Banana Republic Cutout Dress
This bright yellow color of this dress is what initially caught my eye – I am here for the dopamine dressing trend – and although skeptical about the cutouts, I still ordered it. “Worst case,” I thought, “I can just return it. I probably will hate the cutouts anyway.”
Well, here I am, telling you that YOU NEED THIS DRESS. If yellow isn’t your vibe, this cutout dress is available in three other colors.
There is some serious sorcery going on with on the placement of these cutouts; Banana Republic really got it right here. I’ve just never been one to show my torso except in a swimsuit, but I feel perfectly comfortable in this dress.
I’m overall pretty self-confident, but one area that I’ve always felt less than great about is my lower midsection, which is why I shy away from crop tops and typically, cutouts. However, there’s no awkward pulling, even when sitting. The elastic seems to hit at just the right area, so you can embrace the cutout trend without showing half your body or feeling like you need to constantly adjust the skirt.
This cutout mini dress is perfect for brunch, bridal showers, baby showers, luncheons, and even weddings.
