Banana Republic has recently fallen back onto my radar. They recently re-branded last fall and let me tell you here first: do not sleep on the new and improved Banana Republic. The brand has totally elevated its styles, and even added luxe fabrics like silk and leather to its collection. You can still find the more classic BR workwear pieces, but even those seem to have gotten modern updates with seemingly better fits and silhouettes.
Other than a couple off cute summer dresses here and there, I haven’t hardcore shopped at Banana Republic for years. (Mostly because all of the corporate jobs I had were casual and for the past four years I’ve worked for myself at home.) If you’re looking for a minimalist style, love a subtle utility flare, and love a casual-chic polished look, this is the spot.
Head to the very bottom of this post to shop my favorites from Banana Republic’s newest collection.
My Favorite Spring New Arrivals from Banana Republic
This utility jumpsuit was such a favorite I bought it. Yes, there are other green utility jumpsuits out there. But this one is extra fun because of the voluminous balloon sleeves. I love this olive color; it’s a great neutral that can work with both black and shades of brown.
It does come with its own belt in the same material, but I swapped it out for this wide brown belt. Shop a similar belt here.
SIZE NOTE: I’m 5’4″ and wearing the regular length jumpsuit. I only did one little cuff, but otherwise the length felt perfect for me. I’d say this runs a little big; I normally wear a small and I took an XS in this.
I love this eclectic, but still totally wearable striped button up shirt. In my opinion, everyone should have an oversized shirt in their closet. If the mixed stripes aren’t your style, they do offer a couple of more traditional striped options.
I scored a pair of similar straight leg jeans through a brand partnership for BR’s factory store. (See photo below.) This style is super comfy. It’s a roomy fit and thee perfect style for days when you just want to throw on something easy. Wear these cuffed now with ankle booties, and when it warms up swap our your shoes with some heeled sandals.
I’m a total sucker for a pair of longer, tailored shorts. These wool shorts come in a handful of colors, but I’m leaning toward the classic shades of ivory and black for these cuties. (They’d look so cute with the striped shirt tucked in, I’m just saying.)
And yes, you can get a matching blazer for a very of-the-moment shorts set.
A silk button up shirt is an easy way to elevate the classic cotton one you probably already own. Banana Republic is all about staying true to their heritage roots, so I love the homage to that with the front safari pocket details.
This is the perfect LBD for warm weather! It’s a crisp poplin cotton, which in my opinion, is a fabric that somehow just oozes polished perfection since it’s not too saggy or drapey. I will totally be buying this and adding a belt.
