Sweater Over Dress Outfit Inspo | Get the Look

For fall, I have a couple of standard go-to outfit combinations. My favorite and most used is probably a leather jacket with jeans. Ironically though, my second favorite fall outfit combo is more feminine: a sweater over a floral midi dress. Below, I’m sharing some sweater over dress outfit inspo for those in-between fall days, plus a handful of midi floral dresses to refresh your wardrobe.

Sweater Over Dress Outfit Inspo

I found this sweater for only $35 from H&M. It’s perfectly oversized, not itchy, and the color matches everything. You can take your true size here, but if you want it more oversized, go up a size. (I went up a size.) 

I’ve been seeing a lot of this “diagonal sweater tie” or whatever you want to call it trend. I decided to try it. While it’s not totally for me, it’s a nice alternative to wearing a sweater if you’re sick of tying one around your waist. I think for me it’s a little too preppy. However, I don’t seem to think that when I see others wear sweaters like this. Maybe I need to just try again.

The easiest, most effortless sweater over dress outfit is just that – putting it on over your dress. I can get away with bare legs in LA, but you can always add tights if it’s too chilly where you are.

I finished my outfit with a pair of suede booties. The exact pair is linked here in limited sizing, but here’s an almost identical style by the same brand with more sizes. I love a stacked heel; makes things much more comfortable while still adding height.
