For me, a striped dress in the summer is must (along with a LWD, of course). I found this easy striped shift dress to keep things cute but casual.

My Casual Striped Dress
Madewell is my go-to store for summer dresses, and they always have a great variety of striped dresses.
I love the cut of this dress. It’s cut fairly straight, however, I find that there’s still a decent amount of room in the hips, so it’s really comfortable. It’s called “The Easy Dress” and I’d say that is a spot-on name; this dress is literally so easy to throw on and get out the door. It’s also a great dress to hang out in at home, particularly now when it’s too hot to wear anything other than a dress.
There’s a cute little working button detail that goes all the way up the back of the dress. I personally don’t need to unbutton these to get the dress on, but I suppose you could.
SIZE NOTE: I am a size 4 and went with the medium in this striped dress to ensure maximum comfort on hot days. I am 5’4” and you can see it’s not too short or long on me. This dress is also available with sage green stripes if gold/warm tones aren’t your thing.
More Striped Summer Dresses
Regardless of whether you’re into more of a t-shirt style or a breezy midi length dress gal, there’s something so effortless about a striped dress to me in the summer. (This maxi dress by Rails is on my wishlist; I’m obsessed with the cotton candy-colored stripes.)
Just throw on a straw hat and a pair or sandals with any of the dresses below and you’re good to go. (Here’s my exact hat!)
