As much as I love trying trends, it’s really important to build a foundational wardrobe with versatile, quality pieces that you can dress up or wear casually. I first heard about MM LaFleur in 2020 while listening to one of my favorite podcasts, How I Built This. I instantly fell in love with brand founder Sarah LaFleur’s story.
She had no fashion experience but knew exactly what she wanted out of her clothes. When she couldn’t find them, she found a business partner and made them herself. MM LaFleur is for busy women juggling it all, who want to streamline their closets with clothing options that work for the office, home, or the weekend. Over the past few years, I have found fantastic wardrobe staples from MM LaFleur, and in this post I’m sharing my review of this brand I’ve grown to love.
MM LaFleur Review
In this review I’m diving into the MM LaFleur’s ethos, personal styling services the brand offers, and some of their best pieces. I also have a special discount code for Charmed by Camille readers at the bottom of this post.
What Is MM LaFleur?
Frustrated by the lack of stylish and functional women’s workwear options, Sarah LaFleur teamed up with former Zac Posen designer Miyako Nakamura and Narie Foster to launch the brand in 2013.
All MM LaFleur pieces must encompass three things: function, comfort, and style. Across the brand you’ll find details like bra-strap holders and adjustable hems; wrinkle resistant and machine washable fabrics; and well-tailored pieces so you can feel confident wherever your day takes you.
MM LaFleur prides itself on Power Casual, their styling principle of mixing an elevated piece (like a blazer or silk skirt) with a more casual item such as a t-shirt or a pair of jeans. And if you’re not sure how to do this or need some fashion advice, the brand has an entire MM styling team for complimentary in-person appointments in NYC, Washington DC, and virtually.
MM LaFleur Sizing
MM LaFleur is a brand that I’m happy to report runs true to size. They also do a great job of providing special sizing recommendations if something runs small or big. You can find fit and features notes on the product pages of all their items. Find the MM LaFleur size chart here.
I am 5’4” and typically a 4/6 in bottoms and small/medium in tops depending on how I want something to fit. All my MM LaFleur pants are a size 4 except for one pair that I deliberately wanted to fit a little looser.
I prefer to size up in dresses and blazers across pretty much every brand, which is what I do in MM LaFleur. I wear a size 6 in their dresses and blazers except for this poplin striped dress, which I’ve noted below.
Here are my favorite MM LaFleur pieces and categories.

The Best MM LaFLeur Pieces
O’Hara Blazer
Other than this vegan leather dress, the O’Hara Blazer is probably my most worn MM LaFleur style. I own it in two different patterns.
The O’Hara blazer has a boxier cut and longer hemline than MM LaFleur’s other styles. This is more of a boyfriend fit, but thanks to well-tailored shoulders, isn’t super oversized or overly baggy. This is a versatile, modern third piece you can wear with jeans, over dresses, and with dress pants. It’s a favorite item of mine to throw over jeans, a t-shirt, and some heels for a casual but cool look.
This blazer is a key style for MM LaFleur. And typically comes in heavier fabrics for fall and winter and lighter fabrics for warmer months.
As mentioned above, I prefer to size up in blazers across all brands. I have size 6.
The Milo
The Milo Jean is one of my favorite pieces from MM LaFleur because these pants have adjustable hems. It’s a pant than generally works for all heights because of this. But it also provides added versatility depending on your footwear choice.
Nifty adjustable hems aside, I really love the cut of the Milo Jean. This is a high-waist, wide leg style that’s perfectly on trend but still polished and classic. I have these in a few different colors, and they look great with both heels and sneakers. Add a blazer and you have a quintessential Power Casual MM LaFleur outfit!
I wear a 4 in the Milo. But if you’re between sizes I recommend going down a size on these, as they do stretch.
Better Than Denim Collection
Better Than Denim is a denim-like fabric made from Turkish two-way stretch cotton. It provides the polished look of classic and traditional pants, but with the comfort and low-key casual ease of denim.
MM LaFleur makes a handful of jackets and pants in this special fabric, including The Milo Jean.
Leslie Pima Cotton T-Shirt
If you’re looking for an elevated t-shirt, you need the Leslie T-Shirt in Pima Cotton. Pima Cotton is a higher quality cotton. So it’s thicker, softer, and a bit more dressed up than your average, regular cotton t-shirt.
I love these tees. They’re ever so slightly oversized for a truly perfect fit and feature a stylized neckline trim for a polished look. Obviously, t-shirts look great with jeans. But thanks to subtle but impactful design details and luxurious fabric, this is a t-shirt you can wear to work or to a business meeting.
I don’t like my shirts to be too fitted ever. So I wear a medium in these t-shirts (which is the same size I take in Madewell tees).
Dresses
MM LaFleur has an extensive dress selection that spans from Power Casual to the office and special occasions.
I’m personally a big fan of the vegan leather Chloe Dress. You can wear it on its own under a blazer, but my favorite way to wear this dress is with a fitted tee under it for a layered look.
This poplin striped dress is a great menswear-inspired piece for summer. I found this dress to run big, so I grabbed the XS.
The Horton Pant
Finally, I can’t forget The Horton Pant. I think every woman needs a pair of classic black trousers. These are a high-rise fit and my go-to pants when I have an important meeting and need to feel confident and powerful. If black isn’t your thing, you can find this pant in other colors.
These runs TTS. I wear a size 4, but if you want them a little loose take one size up from your normal size.
Is MM LaFleur Worth the Price?
In my opinion, yes, MM LaFleur is worth the price. MM LaFleur pieces aren’t inexpensive, but I’ve found over the years that it’s important to invest in pieces made from quality fabrics because they outlast cheaper alternatives. Innovative wrinkle resistant and machine washable fabrics and functional details are also things you just won’t find with more affordable brands. (This means less money spent on dry cleaning, too!) I’m also a big believer that if something fits you well, it’s worth the purchase because you really can’t put a price on confidence.
MM LaFleur aims to make getting dressed for working in an office as easy as dressing for the weekend by making versatile staples for those searching for more of a capsule wardrobe.
I wear MM LaFleur pieces to dinner, while running errands, and to meetings, and this brand has become one that I reach for often.
If you’re looking to invest in high quality basics, I think you’ll really love MM LaFleur.
Where to Buy MM LaFleur
The largest selection of MM LaFleur is obviously available directly on the brand’s website. They provides fit and detail notes on their site, along with sizing recommendations. You can even chat with a stylist while shopping. If you live in New York City or Washington DC, I highly recommend you pop by one of their showroom locations so you can see and feel the quality of the brand in real life. These showroom appointments are free, and you’ll have a private experience with a stylist who will handpick items for your lifestyle.
You can also shop a small assortment of the MM LaFleur collection at Nordstrom and Zappos, but my discount code CAMILLE20 will only work on the MM LaFleur site.
If it’s your first time shopping MM LaFleur, I’d love to know what you purchase. If you’re already familiar with the brand, what are your favorite items?
