What to Buy From the Dermstore Sale

• I learned about double cleansing when I worked in the skin care industry. Double cleansing as part of your nighttime routine really deep cleans your pores on another level. This oil cleanser attracts other oil and dirt from the skin so your traditional cleanser can do what it’s supposed to – clean your pores – without spreading that yucky stuff around on your face.
• In the winter, I switch to a thicker formula for double cleansing. This cleansing balm provides added hydration while deep cleansing pollution and filth from the skin.
• Like most normal people, I tend to cherry-pick brands and use the things that work for my skin. But one brand I do use several products from is Sunday Riley. I’ve used this lactic acid serum for about 4 years to help keep my skin bright and minimize fine lines. Other Sunday Riley favorites include this vitamin C serum to reduce and prevent dark spots. And this retinoid serum for anti-aging.
• This daily exfoliant has been a part of my skincare routine for many years and it will likely remain there. I used to experience a lot of bumpiness on my forehead. And this exfoliating polish has single-handedly changed the texture of my skin. A little goes a long way; you just need a pea-sized dollop.
• This sunscreen is my all-time favorite to wear under makeup for everyday protection. It’s clear, doesn’t have a smell, glides on smoothly, and also acts as a makeup primer. For days when I don’t wear makeup, this tinted SPF helps even my complexion with subtle adaptive color while also providing sun protection.
• Whenever my skin feels more congested than usual, I reach for these peel pads. My esthetician always recommends an exfoliating product with both AHAs and BHAs. One is water-soluble, the other is oil-soluble, but both are chemically effective to help smooth skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines.
• As someone who has combination skin but also struggles with dehydration, a hyaluronic acid serum is a must for me. Hyaluronic acid holds 1,000 times its weight in water. I put this on clean skin before other serums and my moisturizer. This sale is the perfect time to stock up on Skinceuticals if you like other products from the brand.
• I discovered this moisturizer in Paris after a shopping trip to a French pharmacy. French pharmacy beauty brands are notorious for being affordable yet effective, so I’m glad to be able to purchase this in the US and snag it on sale.
• Another French pharmacy favorite is this thermal water hydrating spray. Direct from an underground spring, the water in this spray contains minerals and silica to reduce irritation and hydrate skin. Avene is a well-known French brand that’s great for those with sensitive skin.
• I am newer to using this face oil, but I do love the hydration, plumpness, and instant glow it gives me without feeling super greasy. Augustinus Bader is pricey so if you’ve had your eye on any of his products, get them while they’re on sale. The Rich Cream is one of the brand’s best-sellers.
• Another face oil that I really like that has a lower price point is this oil from Alpha H. It was a recommendation from my esthetician.
• I love this styling iron so much that I have one for my LA home and another in my NYC home. It heats up in about 20 seconds and has smart heat technology that adjusts the temperature of the plates to prevent hair breakage. I use this when I want straight hair, and I use it to make my signature flat iron, bendy waves.
• If you’re a big dry shampoo user, you need this purifying scalp scrub. I use it every 1-2 weeks when my head feels weighed down by products. It gives the scalp an amazing refreshed, super clean feel.
• Oribe is one of my favorite luxury hair care brands, so whenever it’s on sale, I have to share. They have several items that I like, but two of my personal favorites include this texture spray (a cult classic) and this spray that gives gentle waves without the crunch of traditional sea salt wave products.
