Supergoop Sunscreen Review: The 5 Products I’ve Personally Tested

One thing I’ve consistently appreciated about the Supergoop products I’ve tried is how wearable the formulas are. Unseen Sunscreen has a silky, almost gel-like consistency that glides onto the skin and leaves behind a soft, velvety finish. There’s no greasiness, no shine, and since it’s clear, there’s absolutely no white cast.

How It Fits Into a Skincare Routine

I apply this after moisturizing in the mornings, as the last step of my skincare routine and before I put on any makeup. It doubles as both an SPF and a makeup primer, with a weightless feel that goes under my tinted moisturizer or concealer. It also has no noticeable sunscreen scent, which is a major plus.

All skin types, but especially combination and oily skin. (As someone with combination skin, I can attest to this!)

The One Thing to Know

Unseen Sunscreen is a chemical sunscreen formula, so it may not be the best fit if you specifically prefer mineral sunscreens or if you have very sensitive skin.

PLAY Everyday Lotion SPF 50

PLAY Everyday Lotion is the sunscreen I reach for when I know I’ll be spending significant time outdoors and need something dependable for both face and body. This is Supergoop’s version of the classic sunscreen. I love this sunscreen for everyday body wear, but when I want something fun and scented for the beach or pool, I reach for Vacation Classic Spray SPF.

Texture & Finish

However, unlike drugstore formulas, PLAY Everyday Lotion is lightweight and easy to spread without feeling sticky. It absorbs quickly and leaves no visible white cast. It’s also water-resistant, making it a great option for beach days, pool days, hikes, and outdoor workouts.

How It Fits Into a Skincare Routine

One of the biggest advantages is versatility. You can use PLAY Everyday Lotion on both your face and body. It’s also available in larger sizes, making it one of the best values in the Supergoop lineup.

Anyone looking for an everyday sunscreen that can keep up with an active lifestyle, frequent travelers, and families who want one product for multiple uses or family members.

Mineral Matte Screen SPF 40

Mineral Matte Screen is a tinted matte formula available in four shades. I usually don’t love the feel of mineral sunscreens, but this feels noticeably lighter than others I’ve tried, and it’s a solid choice when you still want a little something even on your makeup-free days.

Texture & Finish

The lightweight formula blends well and leaves behind a true matte finish. Unlike many physical sunscreens, Mineral Matte Screen surprisingly doesn’t feel heavy or overly chalky. The white cast was very minimal to non-existent compared to other mineral formulas I’ve tested.

If you’ve ever tried EltaMD’s tinted sunscreen, the big difference is that this sunscreen has a matte finish versus a dewy, natural finish.

How It Fits Into a Skincare Routine

Mineral Matte Screen works as a standalone sunscreen or if you want very light color coverage. I definitely wouldn’t call it a tinted moisturizer, but it does act as light skin tint that subtly evens out and blurs the skin if you’re looking to go makeup-free.

Best For

Oily, combination, and acne-prone skin types, along with anyone specifically seeking a mineral sunscreen option. If you have dry skin you may want to avoid this.

The One Thing to Know

Blend it in quickly. Because it’s a mineral formula, it tends to set faster than products like Unseen Sunscreen. (One more thing: although there are different colors available, they’re limited and may not self-adjust exactly to your skin color.)

Every Single Face Watery Lotion SPF 50

Every Single Face Watery Lotion might be the most underrated sunscreen in the entire Supergoop lineup.  It is my go-to facial sunscreen for any outdoor exercise.

Texture & Finish

The texture is incredibly lightweight, almost watery, and disappears into the skin within seconds. It feels completely weightless, leaves no white cast, and doesn’t have that typical sunscreen smell many formulas are known for. It applies more like a light moisturizer.

How It Fits Into a Skincare Routine

Any time! Every Single Face Watery Lotion is my go-to for active days when I go for runs or spending extended time outdoors.

Best For

Just about everyone. Sensitive skin, minimal skincare routines, sunscreen beginners, and anyone who dislikes the feeling of traditional SPF products.

The One Thing to Know

Every Single Face Watery Lotion has more of a hydrating and natural finish than a matte one. If you have very oily skin, you may prefer something else.

Reapplying sunscreen throughout the day is one of the biggest SPF challenges, especially when you’re already wearing makeup or out and about. That’s where (Re)Setting Mineral Powder shines.

Think of (Re)Setting Mineral Powder as a lightweight, finely milled setting powder. It comes in 4 colors and helps reduce shine while adding an extra layer of sun protection.

How It Fits Into a Skincare Routine

Keep this in your purse for midday touch-ups. It’s especially useful on travel days, long outdoor events, or hot afternoons if you know you’ll be in the sun but don’t want to disturb your makeup.

Anyone who struggles with sunscreen reapplication, people with oily skin, and those who spend a lot of time outdoors.

The One Thing to Know

It can be a pain to remember to clean the brush, especially if you keep this in your handbag or travel bag. Don’t forget to clean it regularly and properly, as dirty brushes harbor bacteria. Make sure the product is locked, and tilt the brush down so that any excess moisturiser doesn’t get stuck in the base where the brush meets the plastic.

After testing multiple products across the Supergoop lineup, one thing is clear: the brand consistently delivers lightweight, wearable SPF formulas that make daily sunscreen use feel easy.
