As someone who loves to experiment with different beauty products, I was excited to try Jones Road’s newest product, The Bronzer. Although I love that “I-just-got-back-from-vacation” glow, I’ve always been a little intimidated by bronzers. First, I’ve usually associated bronzer with a fully contoured face, and contouring is a beauty skill set I have yet to master. Second, choosing a perfect bronzer can be quite tricky because often, bronzers can skew too orange, too shimmery, and sometimes even too muddy or gray.
That is, until I tried this bronzer from Jones Road. (A product two years in the making!) I think you’re really going to like this product. Here’s my full review.

If you’re unfamiliar with Jones Road, it’s a new beauty brand from legendary makeup artist Bobbi Brown. The brand prides itself on simple, smart, and often multi-functional makeup products for women of all ages who want to streamline their beauty routine for a no-makeup makeup look. The Formula
The website description for Jones Road’s bronzer promises sheer and buildable color to give skin a natural tint or for color correction. And, despite my lukewarm feelings about the extremely subtle color in Jones Road Miracle Balm, a sheer formula is exactly what I have been looking for in a bronzer.
When you dip the brush into the palette, there’s a little kick up from the powder. This happens with basically any powder product, but you can actually see how fluffy and soft this bronzer is. I share a quick shot of this in the video in this post.
If you’re a fan of shimmery bronzer, then this may not be the bronzer for you. However, I strongly recommend that you don’t let that be the reason you don’t try it. I personally like that this Jones Road bronzer doesn’t have shimmer, because you can always add a highlight if you’re adding for some extra glow. (Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder is always a great option.)
Ease of Use
When they say this powder is a sheer formula, they mean it – and at least for this product, this is a plus. This means that you don’t have to worry about accidentally going too heavy handed, especially if you’re a bronzer neophyte like me. Jones Road even sells this fluffy bronzer brush – it’s the perfect brush that provides even, diffused powder distribution across your face.
Despite the sheer formula, this product stayed in place all day.
Texture
My absolute favorite thing about this bronzer is its texture. OMG. It’s a soft, silky powder that is weightless on your face.
Even with my extra “camera layers” of bronzer in the video above, I could not feel this bronzer on my face whatsoever. (Which sadly, is not what I would say of Miracle Balm). A lot of bronzers can be too dry but somehow this silky powder applied perfectly to my face without changing its texture or looking cakey.
Shade Ranges
The Bronzer is available in seven different shades, so there’s something for everyone. I have light/medium olive skin and the Light Tan shade adds a soft and warm golden glow.
How to Use the Jones Road Beauty Bronzer
To use this bronzer, I brushed areas of my face where the sun would naturally hit it: my cheeks, temples, and even a bit on my nose and chin. (In the video above, I went a little heavier than my everyday makeup application so you could see the color on camera).
The Jones Road website also says that you can use the Dusty Rose shade as a powder blush for a rosy glow, or as an all over tinted pressed powder to keep oil at bay (like a setting powder).

TL;DR
10/10 for The Bronzer from Jones Road. The sheer, lightweight, high-performance formula is great for bronzer beginners and makeup aficionados alike since you can control and customize your level of color. Although there’s no shimmer in the powder itself, you can easily add some in with a liquid or powder highlighter. If you’re looking for the perfect companion to deliver even color across your face, Jones Road also sells this bronzer brush.
This bronzer is virtually weightless on your skin and provides that perfect boost of natural-looking color even when you don’t have time to book a warm-weather getaway.
