This Easy Sweet and Savory Halloween Charcuterie Board Takes Minutes to Make

Are you looking to inject some themed fun for your Halloween movie night? This yummy sweet and savory Halloween charcuterie board takes only minutes to assemble and will satisfy everyone’s cravings. (I’m also sharing some of my favorite Halloween movies at the bottom of this post.

The other day I really wanted to jazz up my movie night with something easy, but more exciting than a bowl of popcorn. Enter this super easy sweet and savory Halloween charcuterie board.

Half of the board contains cheese and crackers for something a little heartier, and the other half contains Halloween sweets. The beauty of this board is you can really grab whatever candies and cheeses you like! There’s no wrong way to make this board, but here’s what I used. (Most of it I got at Trader Joe’s!)

My exact cheeseboard it super old from Crate & Barrel, but here is a similar color in a circle version.

How to Make This Sweet and Savory Halloween Charcuterie Board

First Add Sweets

Honestly, you can throw on whatever you want to the sweet side and I think it’ll work.

I started by grabbing a few small bowls and placing them on my board as little anchor points to add variation and height.

LAZY PERSON HACK: Buy one single bag of Brach’s Autumn Mix and you’ve got yourself 3 candy corn types: original, chocolate, and pumpkins. It only takes a few minutes to sort them, and it’ll look like you went above and beyond on the Halloween candy corn train. You can place them in different spots on your board. (Or if you’re extra lazy, don’t sort at all! No biggie!)

However, didn’t want a whole Halloween charcuterie board full of candy corn, so I went for some snack options on this side.

I love Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Covered Pretzels. I really don’t need any excuse to buy them, but if I did, this seemed like an ideal moment. Popcorn is a movie must-have, but I found this pre-popped caramel corn (also TJs) and it just felt right. A handful or so of both will do here.

Then Add Savory for your Halloween Charcuterie Board

There are a ton of seasonal cheeses available this time of year. Have fun with different fall flavors and textures. Usually I try to go for at least one softer cheese and one harder cheese for texture. I purchased these three, all available at Trader Joe’s:

  • Cheddar Cheese with Caramelized Onions
  • Chimay “Autumn” cheese
  • Creamy Toscano Cheese Dusted with Cinnamon

Matt found a garlic-infused cheese at Von’s called “Vampire Slayer” the day after I bought the above. We ate it the day after this board and it was delicious.

I had some crackers in the pantry that were conveniently rosemary, but any crackers will do. You can also buy one of those cracker variety boxes for an easy way to provide multiple cracker options.

After you have your board set up with the larger items (cheese and snacks), drop in smaller candies to fill the gaps and complete your Halloween charcuterie board. I stuffed the original candy corns in to the super tiny spaces, then filled larger gaps with Reese’s peanut butter cups.

While you’re at it, grab a glass of red wine (because ya know, it looks like blood). This Dearly Beloved “I Thee Red” wine is from Trader Joe’s, it’s only $8, and I absolutely love it.

Voila! Now you’re ready to pick a movie and you’re all set!

My Favorite Halloween Movies to Watch

I LOVE scary movies, but only if I have someone to watch them with. The problem is, Matt is not a scary movie lover. He reaches his scary movie limit at one movie, so I really have to choose wisely every year. But that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy a Halloween movie night! Here are some of my favorites, from non-scary to cult classics and thrillers:

  • Annabelle
  • Carrie
  • Halloween
  • Harry Potter series
  • Hocus Pocus
  • Insidious
  • Paranormal Activity
  • Poltergeist
  • Psycho
  • Scream
  • Shutter Island
  • The Addam’s Family
  • The Amityville Horror
  • The Cabin in the Woods
  • The Conjuring (I have sadly not seen this film in its entirety… Matt made me turn it off 🤣)
  • The Exorcism of Emily Rose
  • The Exorcism
  • The Nightmare Before Christmas
  • The Shining
  • The Silence of the Lambs
  • The Strangers
  • The Witches
