There’s something about a good quality, understated bag that instantly elevates even the simplest outfit. If you’ve spent any time browsing Sézane, the French brand with a cult following, you know they’ve mastered this with many of their style. I own several Sézane bags, but the Sézane Milo bag is one of the brand’s most recognizable silhouettes. It’s structured with a minimalist feel, and works for the daytime as easily as it does for nighttime. In short, it’s one of those classic styles that’s perfect for everyday wear year-round.
Here is my full review on the Sézane Milo classic bag.

Sezane Milo Classic Bag Review
I was initially drawn to the Milo bag for its timeless shape with minimal styling. For the most part when I purchase bags, I look for options that I can wear through multiple seasons, year after year. I rarely purchase the “it” bag unless I personally believe that I can get longevity out of it beyond a single season.
The Milo bag is the kind of bag that doesn’t try too hard, yet always looks put together, and is very much in line with that French girl aesthetic that I love.
Design
Visually this bag is very similar to the Celine Triomphe bag and the A.P.C. Grace bag, with a structured body, subtly rounded corners, and metal closure. All three bags have slim compartments and an adjustable strap, allowing for flexible wear as a shoulder bag or a crossbody bag.
I’ve owned the mini version of the Grace bag for several years and love it. It is easily one of my most-loved bags thanks to its sleek shape and versatility. I thought about investing in the larger version, but Sezane makes great leather bags and so I decided to purchase the Milo instead. The price of the Milo is also more affordable than A.P.C. (and definitely more affordable than Celine).
Sézane
Milo Classic Bag
Made in Italy and 100% leather, with an adjustable leather strap and front metal closure.
The adjustable leather strap has snaps, making it easy to quickly adapt your bag between two shoulder bag lengths to a crossbody length. Although it doesn’t provide as many options as a classic buckle strap, I haven’t found this to be problematic. It’s also much easier to adjust the strap on the Milo bag than the A.P.C. Grace bag, which has a metal button you push through a hole.
The interior of the Milo bag contains three sections. Two smaller compartments book end a larger compartment in the middle, and that larger compartment contains a small zipper pocket. There’s also a rather slim compartment on the back, but it doesn’t provide much room for anything other than business cards, a metro card, or receipts.
Materials
Sezane Milo bags are made in Italy and constructed from 100% cowhide or bovine leather depending on the color. They’re all lined in 100% cotton material.
The bags do come with a dust bag, but not that they do not come with a box.
What Fits Inside the Milo Bag
I always lean toward a smaller size bag that fits just my essentials. I fit the following in this bag:
- Lip balm
- Corded headphones
- Slim card case
- Sunglasses case
- iPhone 17Pro
- Small keychain with my keys
If you don’t keep a sunglasses case in this bag, you can probably get away with a compact wallet.
These items definitely fill the bag, but I don’t feel like it’s overstuffed or cramped, and I’m still able to close the front metal buckle.

Is the Sezane Milo Bag Worth It?
I love this bag. It’s available in a handful of neutral colors like natural heritage or glossy black that seamlessly works with any closet. Every now and then Sezane makes limited seasonal colors, which can be fun additions if you’ve already got the basics covered.
I’ve always found Sezane bags to be high quality, even if it’s one of their basket bags. The Milo bag is no different, and it’s easy to see why it’s one of the brand’s best sellers.
The Milo bag currently retails for $475 USD. While it’s definitely an investment, the bag is made in Italy from 100% leather, with the same luxury look as the A.P.C Grace bag ($875 USD) and the Celine Triomphe bag ($4,350 USD).
What I appreciate is how seamlessly this bag fits into everyday life. It feels current without being trendy, and I love that it’s a bag I can wear day or night, casually or dressed up, and across multiple seasons. While it’s certainly an investment, it sits at a more approachable price point compared to many similar designer alternatives.
The structure of the Milo classic bag lends itself to looking a little more polished than a slouchier style, so I like that this is a bag you can wear to dinner and during the day. It’s not a dressy nighttime clutch, but it always seems to go with pretty much everything in my closet.
If you’ve been searching for an elevated, everyday bag that holds your essentials, the Milo bag doesn’t disappoint. If you’re someone who carries a lot of stuff, this purse is likely too small for you. For something even more compact, try the Sezane Claude bag or the even smaller mini Milo bag.
