Just the other day my friend asked me what she should wear to her company holiday party this week. It’s really depends what kind of vibe your office gives off or how everyone usually dresses, but you can’t go wrong with this look.
Whenever I feel like I have nothing to wear I always go with 3 basics: a pair of jeans, a t-shirt, and a leather jacket. Obviously this isn’t very holiday but you can follow roughly the same formula for an office party.
In this case, a blazer, a drapey shirt (or cami) always looks chic and polished. Rather than traditional jeans, sub them out for something festive like a pair of velvet pants! I have to say; velvet pants are actually more comfortable than jeans so to be honest I’ll probably wear mine after the holidays. This beautiful burgundy pair is by AG Jeans and they are high-rise (took my normal size). Velvet is so perfect for this time of year, and it’s a safer option than showing up in head to toe sequins and feeling embarrassingly extra in front of your coworkers. (Although I, for one, am a sequin advocate.)
This exact blazer is from TopShop and from last year, but this one has a similar silhouette. It’s less tailored than normal suiting and is slightly longer to hit by the hip.
To keep things fun, I added this clutch from Sam Edelman. How cute is this “C’est Party” wording on it? The red in the clutch picks up the burgundy tone of the pants, so it matches without being too matchy, if you know what I mean. If you missed my post about classic black pumps like the ones I’m wearing here, head on over here to find yourself a pair!
So, if you’re running out of ideas and time for your company holiday part, I’ve got you girl! It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3 (and a cute bag)! Shop the look below.
