Happy Valentine’s Day! Love. It’s what make the world go ’round. Today, I’m talking about a different kind of love – the kind of general love that people should have for one another and how we can spread kindness to everyone to make this world a better place to live.
I recently attended a NUDESTIX event, where I got to sample their new Intense Matte Lip + Cheek collection (more on that later), but I also got to learn about a great partnership they are doing with Love is Louder.
In the spirit of Valentine’s Day and all things love, I thought today would be a good day to write about the Love is Louder movement. For anyone who hasn’t heard of Love is Louder, they are a project of The Jed Foundation with a simple message: to use your love to help others who are feeling down and out, no matter what that is. This movement isn’t about a particular instance or supporting a specific cause, but simply to help spread the word that sometimes, really all you need is love. It’s the mentality that instead of using negativity to bring others down, we can use love to bring other up. And guess what – it doesn’t cost a thing to help spread love.
So how does NUDESTIX fit into all of this? Ally and Taylor, the two teen sisters that started the grab and go pencil-based makeup line with their mom, both grew up when cyber bullying first took its course and found that they wouldn’t have been able to get through any of it without the love of their family and friends. Five dollars from the sale of every Lip + Cheek pencil in the shades Love and Kiss will be donated to Love is Louder.
