Friday Faves: 8 Fall Berry Lipsticks

We made it through another week, hooray! I’ve been posting a lot of fashion and so for this edition of Friday Faves, I’m switching things up and talking about fall beauty. Fall is so fun for makeup because you can be a lot more dramatic with your daytime look. My favorite fall beauty items that I renew every year are berry lipsticks.

I love berry lipsticks for three reasons. The first reason is what I mention above; it’s fun to be more dramatic with makeup even during the day. There’s something I just love about a really minimal and sleek fall look topped off with burgundy lips, whether they’re sheer or pigmented.

It’s also my favorite beauty hack when I’m being lazy or running late and don’t have time to really get ready. A bold lip always finishes any look, even if said look is jeans and a t-shirt. If you don’t have time to do your makeup in the AM (or don’t want to) just swipe on a high-intensity berry shade and you’re ready. It will instantly pull your look together.

Finally, if you’re not into the whole bold lip for day time, adding a little color after work is much easier than changing your whole outfit for dinner. I’m all about making my life easier, so I pull this trick often when I come home from work on a Friday and need to rush out the door to get my fill of pizza or pasta with Matt. I mean, I don’t want them to run out of pizze but I want to look cute while eating it, right? #carblife

Berry Lipsticks | Charmed by Camille

In my quest for the perfect berry lip, I’ve racked up a lot of lipsticks in a variety of wine hues. So, I decided to swatch them all as best as I could from dark to light/sheer so that you can see what they look like. I have slightly olive skin for reference, so note that there may look different depending on your own skin. You can shop all of the shades below all of the descriptions, too. What’s your favorite fall beauty shade or trend?

Now, from the bottom to the top, my favorite berry lipsticks:

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Whiskey – A creamy, highly pigmented lipstick that has a matte/satin finish. This is a rich, opaque color that last and lasts. It goes on so dark, but I love it and it makes me feel like a bad ass when I wear it.

Lipstick Queen Sinner Lipstick in Bordeaux – Glides on super easily! It produces a relatively matte finish without leaving lips dry. This is a wine color that has less brown than the lipstick above, with a bit more purple.

NARS Lipstick in 413 BLKR – This is one of my first berry lipsticks, and I still love it. It’s semi-matte but still very highly pigmented, and super velvety. It’s a deep red with a little bit of brown and has less purple than the shade above. This is my go-to fall color whenever I’m not sure what to wear. It’s just dark enough without being too over the top and great for day or night.

Lipstick Queen Saint Lipstick in Wine – This lipstick looks a lot darker in the packaging but goes on as a beautiful sheer berry color. It’s lightly pigmented and glides on really easily. On my olive skin it runs more rose color than wine, so it’s really nice to wear during the day.

Lipstick Queen Chess Lipstick in King – Okay, I have a lot of colors by Lipstick Queen because my friend works for them and always shares her stash. This is a creamy, full-pigmented berry shade. All Lipstick Queen lipsticks glide on so nicely. Although my friend works there, I genuinely love how easy all of them are to apply regardless of the finish. They are some of the easiest lipsticks to apply. This shade is definitely more on the berry side and starts to lean a little more mauve.

Lipstick Queen Famous Last Words Liquid Lipstick in Dear John – This matte liquid lipstick reminds me a little bit of the Kylie Lip Kits. Instead of a traditional lipstick form, it goes on like a gloss and then dries into a matte finish. I found this to be less drying than Kylie’s products, so I prefer this. Note that it looks slightly purple in the tube than the red that appears on my arm.

Lipstick Queen Saint Lipstick in Bordeaux – If you’re taking baby steps into lip color than this is a great shade. It’s the sister  to the Sinner version in the same color above, with about 80% less pigment for a sheer finish.

YSL Beauty Glossy Stain Lip Color in 5 Rouge Vintage – Out of all of these lip colors you see here, this is probably the most unique formula. The color itself looks like it would go on like a liquid lipstick, but it’s actually more of a stain. It penetrates into your lips and lasts a long time while still maintaining a subtle sheen of traditional lip gloss. As you can see on my arm, it’s not matte at all and a sweet rose color.
