Today I’m sharing a quick Valentine’s Day makeup tutorial, (or for any date night, really). I’m having so much fun with these beauty posts – how do you like them? I’m still trying to get better at this whole video thing, so here we go again!
Throughout the video you’ll see everything I use for this Valentine’s Day makeup look, and at the bottom of the post you can shop it all. Hope you enjoy!
After prepping my skin with goop’s Revitalizing Day Moisturizer (still don’t have a love it or not verdict), I layered some concealer under my eyes with a matte finish foundation. (I use NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer in Macadamia and Hourglass Immaculate Powder Foundation in Nude.)
For my eyes I swept on eye shadow from my favorite face palette by Charlotte Tilbury. I never like doing a dark smoky eye with a red lip because it can be a lot. So, the nude shades gave my eyes some pop and intensity while still maintaining a neutral canvas. NARS in Jungle Red is the only red lipstick that I wear over and over, and it’s such a universal shade for all skin tones. I love the semi-matte finish; it says on with a general matte effect but it doesn’t dry out lips like other matte sticks.
If you’re looking for a new cool beauty product, I LOVE the Diamond Eye Gloss by Kevyn Aucoin. I picked this up in December and just now getting around to using it. Think of it as glittery Vaseline for your eyes, but not as heavy or sticky. I like to put the gloss right under my brow for a nice shiny gleam. You can also put it on top of shimmery eye shadow to intensify the glittery goodness.
It was fun to change up my look and this is definitely going to be Valentine’s Day makeup face whenever we have our date night! Would you want to see more videos with different kinds of makeup looks?
