Today I’m talking about the menswear fall trend. Menswear is a tried and true favorite for me, and this year is no different. A few posts back, I talked about my favorite fall trends, but I wanted to spotlight this single menswear inspired outfit because I just loved it so much.
DETAILS: PLAID TRENCH (ALSO LOVE THIS ONE) | CITIES T-SHIRT | CROP FLARES (ON SALE! I’M WEARING A SIZE 27) | SHOES (ALMOST EXACT ONES) | HANDBAG (VINTAGE CARTIER – SIMILAR HERE) | RAY-BAN SUNGLASSES
You’ve probably seen me on Instagram constantly complaining about this perpetual heat LA is having. Call it an Indian Summer if you want, I just call it too much sun for October. So, I was super excited when I found this Aella trench at their showroom because, at least for this brief moment, I could cuddle up and pretend that there were orange and red leaves on the ground.
Words cannot describe how much I love this trench. I am really into the fact that there’s two different prints on it – it’s subtle but 👌. I don’t show it here, but the coat actually has a hidden horizontal zipper so that it can transform into a shorter version of itself. Take a look at this post to see it in action on another Aella trench.
I ultimately decided to go for it and just rock menswear head to toe, which is why I chose this structured shoulder bag (thanks mom, for letting me finally have this after years of asking for it) and the brogues.
I also feel like I kind of hit the jackpot when it came to these crop flares. Crop flares are having a major moment and I wasn’t sure about them until I found these by Joie.
The inseam on these is perfect for someone my height. I’m 5′ 4″ and so I feel like I am just too short for some great styles of pants (i.e. the culotte). I had tried on some other ones, but they all required hemming, which would throw the proportion off. Just a note for you people out there my height or shorter – it’s much easier to hem straight or skinny jeans… anything with a flare leaves you cutting off the shape.
