I have to admit; I feel a little bit 80s/90s rock and roll in this outfit. I think it’s a combination of the patent leather with the sequin lightning bolt sweater. It’s fun so I went for it!
Dressing for date night in the winter can be kind of challenging so I wanted to style something that didn’t involve pants. The secret to staying warm in an outfit like this isn’t actually the tights – it’s the sweater! This sweater is cashmere so it’s beyond soft, but more importantly for this time of year it’s really warm, too. Don’t get me wrong, the tights help, but all of my coziness is definitely coming from the sweater.
Autumn Cashmere is one of my favorite sweater brands (this is not sponsored, I actually just love them), and I couldn’t resist the bolts. And they’re sequins! I mean, hello! This right here is proof that you can totally wear sequins beyond the holiday season.
I own a regular black leather skirt but this fun patent one is only $75. It’s a fun spin on a classic and patent is totally having a moment right now. I also think that the zipper gives it a little bit of character, no? FYI – I am usually a size 4/small. I’m wearing a small here but probably could’ve also worn a medium without a problem!
I’ve been so obsessed with my Jeffrey Campbell sock booties. I’ve been wearing them so often; I hope you’re not too sick of them but to be honest, they’re perfect! For one, they have a block heel (I’m terrible in heels), and the pointed toe helps elongate your leg. I’ve never worn them with tights, usually jeans, but I think it works! These booties come in a ton of colors include black and red patent (so fun). I’m crushing on the nude pair, which is a perfect shade and not too light or dark. Maybe those will make an appearance soon. 😉
Now, this is a perfect date night look as is for all you Southern California ladies, but for anyone in cooler temps, pair with this fab wool coat to keep you extra warm!
