It’s the middle of September, Pumpkin Spice Lattes have been available since August, and I’m wearing white after Labor Day. 🙃 Fall is on Monday, people! Where has 2019 gone?! I’ve said this once and I’ll say it again: LA has crazy weather right now and it stays about 80 degrees until November. So, what do I wear when it feels like summer, when it’s not? This. Here’s how to transition white jeans in fall.
Step 1
Grab your favorite pair of white jeans. I’m not quite ready for skinny jeans just yet (make me too hot with the tight ankles), so I threw on these white wide leg jeans. If you don’t have wide leg jeans, no biggie, this dressing formula works with any silhouette.
These are from Madewell, one of my favorite brands for quality denim without a super high designer price tag. They aren’t cheap jeans, but they aren’t $300 either, so if you’re looking for a pair of jeans to splurge on without feeling too guilty, check them out! (Not sponsored, I just really love Madewell.)
My exact jeans are low on inventory, but Madewell makes an almost identical pair (here) and I found these from Everlane for under $100!
Step 2
Add in fall tones. Warm tones for fall are always in. Think deep shades of rust or orange to compliment the changing leaves. (Well, not in LA… but you know.) My items of choice here are these cognac suede sandals and my mini crossbody bag. The suede of my shoes feels seasonally appropriate, but the open toes allow me feet to breathe during transitional weather periods.
This is sort of step 2.5, but if possible, try to add in a little fall trend if you can. For me, I’m personally still loving all things leopard print. So, I added in this fun belt. It’s a small way to be “on trend” for the season even if the weather isn’t quite there yet. This exact one is old and sold out but I linked a couple of options below!
Step 3
Finish with a dark, easy tee. Whether you rock a plain tee or a graphic tee, the dark shade provides a nice contrast against those white jeans in fall. (I’m wearing my favorite Anine Bing eagle tee, it never fails me and adds some edge to any look.)
Voila! You’re ready to rock this perfect transitional outfit!
