If you saw Monday’s post then you already know that I love wearing velvet for the holiday season! And you know I LOVE myself a jumpsuit (hello, no-brainer dressing). So basically, this velvet jumpsuit is LIFE for me. A one-piece item that allows you to get ready for your holiday party in 5 seconds flat in a deluxe texture? That’s gonna be a YES from me, dawg.
This wide leg velvet jumpsuit is the most beautiful deep navy. In certain light it looks almost black, but then when light hits it you can see that it’s blue. I’m trying to stay away from traditional black for holiday dressing. Don’t get me wrong, I love an all black look, but be daring this holiday season and try something new!
I ordered two sizes because I wasn’t sure how it would fit. I’m usually a 4 but wearing the 2. I wouldn’t say this necessarily runs big, because the 4 totally fit me, but I preferred that the 2 was a little more fitted in the torso to offset the wide legs. Since this velvet jumpsuit has cropped legs it made it super easy to wear out of the gates – no hemming required! The wrap is a faux wrap but my favorite detail is on the arms. The sleeves have a slight puff at the shoulder and the rushing down the arm elevates the piece. It also comes in a very pretty gray.
Since I shot this in NYC, I swapped out my California ankle strap sandals and wore classic black pumps. I took advantage of the cooler weather and ability to wear closed toe shoes. It’s the little things in life, people. Especially for a girl who loves fall and winter weather!
These suede pumps are absolutely an investment, but I cannot say enough how much I love them. I am not a girl to wear stilettos so trust me when I say that these are worth saving up the money to get because I can for sure feel the difference in comfort here. Sure, after a day they are going to kill you feet, but so will any heel. I swear I am SO BAD at walking in heels but these don’t give me any problems and I am significantly less awkward walking in them than others. Out of every pair of heels I own, I have hands down worn these the most. (PRO TIP: put these on your holiday wish list and make your significant other treat you to them.)
I wanted to do something a little different with my hair, but it was slightly rainy this day. I didn’t want to spend a ton of time styling it knowing it wouldn’t hold in the rain. So I added three of these Scunci X Sincerely Jules jeweled bobby pins to one side of my hair for an easy upgrade without the fuss.
If you have a party to go to this season and you don’t like to wear dresses or skirts, try a velvet jumpsuit!
