The white cotton shirt. A staple for any closet and for any season.
I must confess, I have at least 5 different variations of “the white shirt” hanging in my closet. This new addition from Madewell just might be my favorite, though.

Reasons why this shirt gets an A+:
It’s cotton, but this is no basic blouse. It has a great woven texture (think white denim jeans, only only super soft).
It’s roomy enough for warm weather, so when I’m sweating bullets in prematurely hot LA “spring”, I won’t roast to death. I also won’t be wanting to off myself while driving home from work during the awkward hour when the sun hasn’t set yet but it’s blinding you and making you really hot even though the AC is on. I know I’m not the only one here.
Jack of all trades. Just structured enough so that I can look like a functioning adult in the workplace when paired with skinny ankle slacks, but just unstructured enough to wear half-tucked on the weekend with my high rise cut off shorts. Bonus: will also make an adorbs swimsuit cover up come pool season.
