The Madewell Dress That I Can’t Stop Wearing

Hi everyone! I’ve been majorly lagging on keeping up with my posts and took a little hiatus last week for some R&R. If you didn’t see my last few Instagram posts, I also took a spontaneous trip to NYC for a long weekend and some yummy food. Now that I’m back in LA, I’m ready to be back in action.

It’s supposed to be right near 80 degrees everyday for my foreseeable future here in Los Angeles. It seems like we skipped spring and went straight for summer weather over here!  Nothing screams summer better than a white cotton dress. I know, it’s not officially (or even unofficially) summer, but never been one for following rules and so I don’t really play by the “no white until Memorial Day” thing. Plus, with warm temperatures like this, how can you follow them?

I’m a big believer in wearing dresses when it gets got because no matter what, you can always look put together in a dress in almost zero time. My little trick to upping any dress game is to add a fun accessory: a necklace, lightweight jacket, or a fun little neck scarf like the one I’m wearing here will do it.

I’ve just been obsessed with everything Madewell has put out recently, and this windowpane dress has me feeling so happy. I want to wear it every weekend.

The print is just enough to give the dress some life so that it isn’t just another boring white one, but because it’s so simple, it’ll go with everything! There’s also something fun and a little retro with the print, midi length, and buttons. If I had a waffle cone and a bicycle, I could have been an extra in The Notebook. Or I could have been Rachel McAdams. 🙂

There’s a few features this dress has that I particularly love. The first one is obvious – how cute are these cut outs?! They show just enough skin and are placed perfectly, so you don’t have to worry about buying a new bra. The dress is lined and also has adjustable straps. I feel like liners with white dresses should really be a no-brainer for brands (unless something is 110% no see through) but I see a lot of white skirts or dresses that just don’t have them. I’m also loving the adjustable straps because you can really tailor the fit to any body. Finally, there’s a little hidden button closure at the waist that you can’t see here. It’s hidden inside of the dress and totally defines a little waistline for me.

I obviously like wearing this white dress with sandals, but it’ll look so cute (and a little cooler) with some converse sneakers.
