The Denim Mini Skirt is Back! Denim Mini Skirts Under $100

Remember those couple of years in the early 2000s when you told yourself that those styles you wore were never coming back? Well, you were wrong. I had a pretty decent collection of denim mini skirts from Abercrombie, Hollister, and American Eagle back in my teenage years. If you had told me the denim mini skirt would come back in style, I would have not believed you. I also could have saved a buck or two by hiding mine in a closet somewhere until now. It is now 2018, 13 years after I graduated high school (wow, where did time go?) and I am here to say that the denim mini skirt is back. At least for now.

I was a little apprehensive about how back “in” denim mini skirts were going to be this summer. Whenever a trend or item comes back in style, I like to wait a little bit to see if it sticks. But, I was excited to have an alternative to shorts or dresses or pants. I absolutely hate wearing full-length jeans during the day in the summer, and sometimes jean shorts can get really uncomfortable.

So I figured I would give the denim mini skirt a try as an adult sooner than later.

I didn’t want to splurge on anything and so I picked up this denim mini skirt from Topshop. For only $55 I have actually gotten some decent use out of it and happy to report that I ended up getting one in a worn-in black. The black one is actually super fun to wear because you can wear a cami at night and it feels dressed up, more so than this blue one.

Like I suspected, this skirt has come in handy on days where I want to wear jean fabric, but don’t want to wear actual jeans or jean shorts.
