Tapered Gray Jeans: One Piece, Two Ways #1

Now that we are at end of January, I’m finally back into the swing of things. (For the most part, at least.) I bought these tapered gray jeans at the very end of the year right before I went to London, and I couldn’t wait to style them. Not only am I styling these jeans once, I’m styling them twice for you! They are this month’s “One Piece, Two Ways” featured item.

Be sure to check in tomorrow to see how I switch things up with these jeans. (To make sure you don’t miss it, sign up for emails!)

The Jeans

I pretty much saw these gray Current/Elliott jeans online and immediately added to bag. I’d been looking for gray jeans anyway, and loved the subtle pleating, trouser style pockets, and designed waistband. Paper bag waists and tapered legs for a more “trouser” take on denim are popping up all over the internet. I love that these details give a slightly fancier feel to denim, but somehow make each pair look fresh and cool.

SIZE NOTE: I am wearing my normal size (26) and they fit perfectly with a little bit of room at the waistband. These jeans are 100% non-stretch denim.

The Rest of the Look

If you’ve been here for a bit, then you know I’m all about a casual look. I mean, aren’t most of us? I’d love to be that girl that can wear heels every day, all day, but I am not.  So obvs, I’m wearing sneakers here.

I talk about these white canvas Tretorn sneakers a lot, and here they are again still going strong in 2020. I mean, if it ain’t broke, right? They go with everything, they’re not bulky, and they’re only $75.

Now let’s talk tops. A graphic sweatshirt is such an easy add to a casual look. It’ll keep you cozy, but still somehow manage to look effortless and still stylish. I love this one by Anine Bing. (I’m wearing a small here, but I also wear XS in her stuff because her pieces can run large.)

Finally, I topped things off with this a Marc Jacobs crossbody bag. I got this bag for Christmas; it’s a perfect everyday bag that’s still “designer” without being too high end that you’re afraid to use it. Unfortunately the exact style sold out, but I also love this Marc Jacobs bag for everyday use.

Make sure to check back in tomorrow so see how I dress these jeans up with some other fun pieces!
