As we ease into spring, the weather can get really annoying. A perfectly sunny morning can soon turn into a rain storm. I love this time of year when stores start showing off their new spring collections, but I HATE how the weather has major mood swings.
Enter over the knee boots. I feel like they’re pretty good investments considering how often you can wear them. Even in LA, I can usually get away with wearing them October – March. If you need me to do the math, that’s 6 out of 12 months.
When it’s solidly cold outside, over the knee boots always look adorable with a pair of skinny jeans and an oversized sweater. But I actually love when it warms up just a bit because they look really cute with a transitional outfit like the one I’m wearing here.
A lot you you know I’m not the biggest fan of heels, so these flat Dolce Vita boots were my OTK picks this year. The best part about these boots is that they actually stay up on your leg! There’s a few seamed pieces on the long part of the boot that kind of act as “stoppers” around your ankle and above your calf. Then to keep them up above the knee, they have these cute little ties in the back.

The key to making over the knee boots work with a dress is to make sure you show a little skin. If you overlap the hem with the top of the boots, it’ll just look off. I chose a sweater dress here, but a draped boho style would also look adorable.
This outfit keeps me cool when it’s warm (reason #2 to have the gap of skin) and cozy when it’s cold. You’d be surprised how warm over the knee boots are, even when you don’t have full length jeans with them.
Super sexy boots, looks great on you
