Happy March, friends! I am really excited for this month because spring is now only officially a few weeks away. Warmer weather is on the horizon! (In Los Angeles, at least.) I’ve been all over the Internet researching spring trends and wanted to do something fun for this month to get you fashionably set up for the season ahead.
Every Monday this month, I’m showcasing a new spring trend and rounding up my favorites in that category. Today is the first installment of this SPRING TREND SERIES and I wanted to start off on a high note. I’m going bold today and going straight for the grooviest and most “California” trend for spring – the TIE-DYE trend.
Tie-dye was all over the runway and slowly but surely tie-dye pieces are making their way to retailers. The tie-dye trend is so fun and actually the one trend I’m most looking forward to wearing into summer. It has all of those nostalgic vibes from when you were young, the rock ‘n’ roll edge of the 70s, and the effortlessness of retro California beach style. I mean, who wouldn’t want to embody all of that in one single piece?
SHOP THE LOOK
Even though I’m wearing this shirt with white jeans, you could get away with a faded pair of blue jeans or even a medium wash. Shop with jeans here.
Since it’s still cool enough for a jacket, I threw on this denim jacket; it’s my go-to piece whenever I need an extra layer. A good denim jacket that fits well to your body never goes out of style. I’ve had this one for at least 3 years now.
Last but not least, I finished my look with a classic pair of Soludos espadrilles. (Since my feet are nowhere near sandal-ready, I’ll spare myself and throw on these espadrilles instead to keep a look spring-y.)
The tie-dye trend can seem super intimidating at first because, well, tie-dye is a lot. Let’s just be honest here. But if you wear one piece and add in closet staples like a denim jacket and clean white jeans, you can stay on-trend without feeling tacky.
