Happy Friday! I’m getting ready to hop on a plane to NYC on Monday and can’t wait. It’s no secret that I love New York City, but I always love going there when I’m in a bit of a lull creativity-wise. That’s why I decided to go right at the start of this new season. I always come back inspired and ready to make more stuff for you!
First, I want to let you in on a little secret. I’m very lazy when it comes to getting ready. I am so not the girl that takes hours to get dressed, although I enjoy looking put together. And my little savior and trick to achieving this is with a denim romper or jumpsuit.
I have been LIVING in this denim romper from Wrangler. It’s denim, but it’s roomy, so comfortable and not constricting. The elastic waist is actually adjustable with snaps on the side to bring it in or out. I’m wearing the legs cuffed, but if you want them a little longer, un-roll them for a totally different vibe. I found a couple of places where this baby is fully stocked – you can shop this exact jumpsuit and other denim options below.
Size note: I’m wearing a medium here because I wanted a little more of an oversized fit, but a small would have totally worked for me, too.
Last year I borrowed these woven Schutz slides from a friends and I loved them so much that this season I bought them for myself. I’m usually a 6.5/7 and took a 7 in these. This denim romper would also look super cute with sneakers and a baseball cap for an easy weekend outfit with a sporty edge.
I added my ever-favorite accessory: the bandana, to give a subtle nod to the western vibe and play up the denim. Finally, I finished the look with these affordable polarized sunnies and my goes-with-everything crossbody bag. (Seriously though, if you’re looking for a designer purse that you’ll wear a lot – I recommend this bag. It’s small but fits the essentials, and more affordable than other designer brands for this size.)
Now I don’t know about you but I often have those days where I feel like I have nothing to wear. Or, I’m too lazy (or late) to think about putting together an outfit. Enter the jumpsuit or romper. Since the top and bottom are literally sewn together, it takes zero brainpower to coordinate anything except shoes.
I also have those days where I don’t want to be constricted in jeans, but I’m not in the mood for a girly dress. The denim romper/jumpsuit falls right in the middle of both. Similar to a dress, you’re one and done. And similarly to jeans… there are legs. (It’s Monday. Just let me live).
Anyway, my point is, a jumpsuit or romper is a real saver when you’re being non-committal. Or having one of those days where nothing in your closet looks good. Plus, denim goes with everything and is perfect for whatever casual event may come your way.
Now that it’s warm out, I want simple, non-fussy pieces I can spend the day in. This will for sure do the trick!
