Oversized sweater dresses have been a fall staple ever since I can remember. This season, however – thanks to a resurgence of 1970s fashion – I’m all about midi sweater dresses.
I’ll keep this post is short and sweet with a roundup of 20 midi sweater dresses below. They are all difference price points, all a little different in terms of style, but with one thing in common: a longer hemline.
Modesty is totally making a comeback this year with longer lengths combined with longer sleeves. Embrace this retro look, and pair with big shades and saddle-colored leather for a very chic nod to the 70s.
The dress I’m wearing is no longer available, I found a similar shape and color dress for only $60 here. To help define your waist, it always helps to add a belt like I did. (My sunglasses are under $100 and my bag is under $200. I got you, girl!)
I kept things monochromatic, but it would be fun to add a pop of color with a standout handbag or colorful shoes.
Speaking of shoes, here’s some footwear to wear:
- For fitted styles, you can’t go wrong with a classic ankle strap heel. If it’s too chilly for an open toe, opt for a heeled bootie that hugs your ankles.
- For flared styles, I love a slouchy knee-high boot. (Shop a similar style to my boots here.)
- To keep things casual on the weekends, a white leather sneaker is always in style, regardless of the dress’ silhouette. (Click here for my favorite pair.)
