Hi there and welcome to the second installment of One Piece, Two Ways: Plaid Pants. Did you catch yesterday’s post where I took these babies and modernized the classic suit? If you missed it, click here.
Today I’m styling these pants a different way. It’s a little more dressed down and perfect for casual Fridays at work and the weekend.
Here’s a quick recap of these under $100 plaid pants:
- The banded waist with an elastic backing makes these super comfy to wear from the office to dinner
- I love the slanted front pockets because they keep the pants streamlined
- Vented hems at the bottom add a cute little detail
- The black and white houndstooth print is a classic, as well as the color combo
- I’m in the size small (typical size is size 4 so these run TTS)
I ditched the matching blazer from yesterday and threw on one of my go-to easy pieces: a graphic tee. Being from Los Angeles, I thought this t-shirt was too hilarious not to buy. I mean, the photo on the front is a pretty accurate description of the freeways on the regular. (If you haven’t been to LA let me just tell you this, every hour in Los Angeles is rush hour.)
Every time the weather starts to cool off, I find myself reaching for my Gucci slides. I’ll say it once and I’ll say it over and over; these are by far my best designer purchase ever. These slides are fancy enough for dinner when you don’t want to wear heels, but also polish up any casual outfit like this one. (Just in case you’re not in the market right now to spend lots of your dough on some shoes, try these or these.)
FYI, this black crossbody bag fits way more in it than I thought it would! It’s a fab option for an easy daytime bag that you can take anywhere.
Next time you’re in a rut with your jeans try a pair of plaid pants! Which look do you prefer – today’s more casual vibe or yesterday’s modern power suit?
