I have a confession. I love the menswear trend and I really hope it’s not going anywhere for a while. Blazers are always a great way to start embracing the trend, but if you’re looking to take menswear to the next level, may I suggest a plaid mini skirt?
I love plaid mini skirts because they’re a perfect mix of modern day woman meets 1990s Cher from Clueless. This particular skirt is so affordable (less than $70!), and since it’s gray plaid, it sets a neutral palette that can really go with everything. For sizing reference, size up one size from your normal size – this fit snug around the hips on me.

This fun, mock sleeve sweater has a bit of an oversized look to keep the outfit easy and effortless. This exact one is sold out, but here’s a Free People sweater on sale. It comes in a bunch of other colors and you may recognize it from this post!)
Let’s talk finishing touches. Normally I shy away from overdoing it on trends, but I couldn’t resist adding a newsboy hat with this look. I’m sure you’ve seen these hats all over Instagram! They look cute on everyone and regardless of whether you’re sporting menswear or not, seem to always complete any outfit. Plus, this one is only around $40 so a rather small investment for such an on-trend piece that goes with tons of stuff.
Not surprisingly, I’m wearing these Jeffrey Campbell sock booties that have kept me chic and on trend all season. The block heel makes them really easy to walk in and even with as much has I’ve worn them, the “sock” part has stayed tight around my ankles. I wore these all over Fashion Week, too!
Do you like the menswear trend? Sometimes I feel silly calling it a trend because TBH I think it’s staying!
