Over the Knee Boots: One Piece Two Ways #1

Hi everyone! This month’s “One Piece Two Ways” series is all about how to style over the knee boots. I’m taking these gorgeous gray suede boots by Marc Fisher and styling them one way today, then one way tomorrow!

First, let me start by saying I like this taupe/gray shade because it’s different than the more popular black or brown. I’m such a sucker for a good gray because it softens looks where you’d typically wear black shoes; only it’s not as harsh or contrast-y. (Yes, I made up that word.)

Today I wanted to share a more classic way of wearing over the knee boots. I wanted my boots to be the star of the look, so I kept everything else here super minimal with just a pair of jeans, an easy sweater, and a necklace for some shine.

These Marc Fisher over the knee boots are on sale and going fast, so if you’re looking for a pair then hurry! They also have them in your regular black and brown (also on sale). The material is stretchy enough to stay up on your leg without being too tight. There’s also a little tie on the back to help stay up right at the top. I’m between a 6.5 and 7, and I went with a 6.5 on these. They are a little snug and so I probably should have purchased a 7, but they didn’t have my size. If you’re between sizes, defintely go up a size.

I found this sweater from Shopbop in December. It’s a nice cheery red without feeling too holiday or seasonal. And I’m finally happy to say folks, that it is ACTUALLY cold enough in LA to wear a sweater and jeans during the day. Thank you 2019! This sweater is just under $100 and super comfy. I feel like sometimes with sweaters you sacrifice comfort for price (aka ITCHY) but that’s not the case here. I’m wearing my usual size small, and as you can see it’s just barely oversized without being too baggy.

The red sweater is a nice contrast and a little unexpected with my gray boots. Like I mentioned above, gray is a little less harsh than black so it makes for a softer transition into my jeans. These jeans are by 7 For All Mankind and I love them. They are perfect for everyday wear with a high waist and stretch. I saw on Twitter or something recently that low-rise jeans might be making a comeback? I seriously hope that was a lie. When I was a teenager my mom would always tell me how flattering high-rise jeans were and I never wanted to listen until I got older. Now I’m a high-rise gal for life.

These over the knee boots are definitely the center of attention in this look. I also wanted to show you in this post how much a pair of boots like these can make your legs look so much longer! I mean, hello! If longer legs don’t sell you OTK boots, I don’t know what will.
