Happy Thursday everyone! This is the second post for this month’s One Piece Two Ways series on how to wear dad sneakers. When I was online researching for my own inspiration on how to wear dad sneakers, I came across a photo of a girl in wide leg blue pants with a simple white t-shirt.
There was something so easy but refreshing about it, and I just loved the sporty look with the sneakers. So today, I reinvented that look to present my own, slightly different, slightly similar version here.
I searched far and wide for a pair of wide leg blue pants, and landed on this pair from ASOS. (Brights are totally have a moment for spring and if you missed my post on the colorful trend, click here.) Sometimes a girl just needs a break from jeans, am I right? The wide legs give space to move around (AKA so comfy) while the front pleats add some “tomboy professional” appeal. Size note: Sizing on ASOS is always tricky. I took a US size 4 and they were a bit snug at the button, but not uncomfortable. If you’ve between sizes, definitely go up a size.
The blue of the pants compliment the light blue on these $90 sneakers, as well as the light blue bag. In hindsight I could have paired the pants with one of these blue tees for a monochromatic look. But, this adorable cheetah graphic tee from Anthropologie caught my eye first.
I love the look of these big old pants, and they are a fun alternative to style with dad sneakers. I mentioned this yesterday, but dad sneakers always add a sporty feel to any outfit. Whether it’s this look or yesterday’s outfit with a denim skirt and sweatshirt, I like to keep my pieces plain. This allows these statement sneaker do what they need to do without being overcomplicated. And the sporty vibe just adds a level of cool and effortlessness.
Which look is your favorite – today’s or yesterday’s?
