Hello again! I’m bringing back yesterday’s affordable Free People denim dress and totally remixing it for this months’ second installment of “One Piece Two Ways.”
In yesterday’s post, I wore this dress in its traditional state, buttoned up as is on the model. But not today!

Denim Dress – Free People | Lace-Up Sandals – similar here (or shop more flat sandals here)| | White Denim Shorts – old (shop more denim shorts here) | Cross Body Bag – Madewell
Did you know you can actually get double the mileage out of any button up dress if you unbutton it? Well, you can! And that’s exactly what I did here to totally refreshed the look of this dress.
I liked the effect of wearing this denim dress as a long shirt, with my white jean shorts poking out under it. It sort of adds an unexpected little surprise. If you want to really switch things up, unbutton the denim dress completely and layer a tank top under it.

Instead of yesterday’s western booties (shop them here), I decided to go a little more summery/boho-inspired with some cute lace-up sandals. These exact ones are so old, but I found a super similar version here for only $60. (I also wore them in this post with some overalls, in case you want to make these lace-up sandals the “one piece” two ways). 😉
To finish this simple summer look, I topped it off with this not-too-big-or-small cross body bag. It’s such a great, muted shade of blush and truly acts as a neutral. Online it says the color is peach, but to me it definitely leans a little to the pink side.
Which denim dress look is your favorite: yesterday’s subtle nod to the western trend, or today’s boho babe outfit?
