IT. IS. HERE. If you’re a whackadoo, you wake up early for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Or, if you’re smart, you wait until said whackadoos sort through page after page of product and curate all of the good pieces for you into one comprehensive post of amazingness.
Just as an FYI, I am the whackadoo, and here is your blog post with my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale picks.
Just as a note, early access is going on now and so you must be a cardholder in order to shop the sale. It opens to the public on July 22. To get early access, find out more in this post here.
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is huge, so I broke down everything into a handful of categories. Follow me throughout the duration of this sale for more steals and deals!
HANDBAGS
I love a good, casual black bag, so my top pick for this sale is probably this Faux Leather Drawstring Tote. If you want something a little more luxe (and real leather) then you can’t go wrong with this one by Alexander Wang. It’s a little edgier because it has studs on the bottom, but the studs also help protect the leather from touching the floor.
SHOES
I don’t even know where to begin with the sale shoes this year because there are a lot of them, and they are GOOD. It really depends on what you’re looking for, but I always dig a bootie for the fall/winter since it never gets too terribly cold over her in LA. My top pick are these Steve Madden booties because they have a little bit of a heel to look polished at work, but are low enough to walk around all day. Plus at under $90 for leather, they are kind of hard to pass up. If you’re looking for some not-so-basic flats, the go ahead and spring for these Vince oxfords. Although Vince is known for soft and luxurious knits, I love Vince shoes. They are well made and always, always comfortable.
DRESSES, SKIRTS, ETC.
Skirts and dresses are so versatile when transitioning from warm to cooler temps. My tricks? Add socks or tights to your look or put a form-fitting tee under a sleeveless dress, and you have an instant fall update (plus, it will feel like you just bought a new outfit when you didn’t). You can never go wrong with an A-line leather skirt because they flatter everyone and truly classic.
WATCHES
With cell phones and smart watches, it’s easy to just glance at a digital time, but it’s also nice to have a classic time piece. I love layering watches amidst bracelets for a layered look, because it feels a bit more modern than just wearing a single watch. My favorite from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is this Shore Projects Set because it comes with multiple bands to switch in and out depending on the day, your outfit, or mood.
OUTWERWEAR
True outerwear is always a second thought in Southern California, but I made a conscious effort here to hit all of the different types of jackets and coats. There’s this lightweight boyfriend blazer (under $50!), some medium weight leathers (my favorite is this amazing burnt yellow one from Veda), and this super cute and cozy faux fur-trimmed parka.
BEAUTY & HOME FRAGRANCE
I am a big advocate for all-in-one palettes because they make matching makeup a no-brainer but also super easy for traveling. NARS put together this cute little Survival Kit that features everything face plus a lipgloss and their new Audacious Mascara. There are also some great tools on sale, like this lightweight T3 hairdryer.
I hope you’ve had as much fun browsing my top picks for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale as I did scouting them out for you.
