What I’m Wearing: Millennial Pink Dress

Let’s just call it like it is: a special shade of pink is totally having a moment right now. Whether your want to call it millennial pink, blush, or the basic light pink, it’s everywhere.

It’s also everywhere in Los Angeles, as documented in this entertaining article about a girl who goes on the hunt for millennial pink all over the city and tries to answer the question: “What, actually, is millennial pink?”

Pink has been my favorite color since the day I knew what colors were. I don’t remember ever thinking that maybe purple or teal or blue could ever be a favorite. Up until recently though, I never actually purchased pink things for daily wear. I’d always randomly only save pink for random stuff like a gym bag, a water bottle, desk accessories at work. Heck, I even had pink hair at one point last year.

I’ve been living that pink life for quite some time, even if it hasn’t been directly on me in the form of clothing. I took a scroll through my Instagram feed and found the color pop up more than I thought!

But pink, to wear? Absolutely not. Until now. Millennial pink/blush/light pink has taken over almost every store I walk into, and I’m not mad at it.

Slowly and surely, pink has crept its way onto the hangers of my closet. I’m not sure when the pink closet addiction started, but it’s seemed to manifest itself into shoes, tops, skirts, sunglasses, and dresses. The only thing that seems to be missing in my closet is a light pink purse.

I’ve been wearing this pink dress from Madewell all summer. It’s cotton and super airy so that you’re not dying in long sleeve on a hot day. It also comes with an attached slip under it so it’s not see-through. #key

I usually wear a small but I got an XS in this pink dress. A size small would’ve still worked, but the sleeves are puffy and I felt like they were engulfing my body. It is marked down on MAJOR sale right now (we’re talking $135 to $50) so you’ll practically make money on it.*

Just in case you too, have caught the pink fever, here are a bunch of pretty pink things you didn’t know you needed.
