Hi all! Another month, another 30-ish days of trying out some new products. In today’s beauty obsessions post I’m talking about three skin care finds that have been blowing up my Instagram feed. Two of them are face masks (my skin care weakness) and the third obsession is a jade roller that I picked up from Amazon for under $20.
Let’s get into it, shall we?
The New “It” Mask
If you’re on Instagram and follow beauty bloggers (or even Kim Kardashian), then you’ve probably seen the Jet Lag Mask by Summer Fridays somewhere within the app. It’s been everywhere from WWD to Vogue. The brand was started by two bloggers whom I follow and love (Marianna Hewitt and Lauren Gores) and so the second that this mask was announced back in January, I knew I’d buy it. The Jet Lag Mask is the only product by the brand – for now – and is based off of the idea that even if you’re not jetting around like Marianna, everyone has some type of “jet lag life” that leads to looking tired.
The Jet Lag Mask Mask reminds me a lot of the Bobbi Brown mask that I featured in February, right down to the packaging. I still love the Bobbi Brown mask for overall hydrating and radiance, but this masks is really good for the under-eye area. One cool thing that I like about this mask is that you can also wear it as a primer. If you apply a very thin layer of the mask, it absorbs quickly into the skin. I’ve tried this a few times when I’ve remembered, and my makeup does glide on better and the application is a bit nicer. When it comes to using it under the eyes and as a primer, it totally falls in the obsession category.
Instagram Gold Pink
The Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior Pink Plumping Mask is almost too pretty to use. With its pretty glittery appearance and almost jelly-like texture, I was really excited to try this mask. It contains hyaluronic acid to help plump up the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines. I’m not quite sure how to describe the fragrance but it has a very light flowery smell (I think?) that I loved. While it didn’t go on bright and glittery pink like expected, my face did feel noticeably more hydrated and glowy. It was an instant drink of water for my skin.
My $17 New Bestie
Last but certainly not least is this $17 jade roller. I tend to get dark circles under my eyes and have been noticing them a lot more lately. I ordered this jade roller to help combat that. I’m not sure if it’s the actual jade that’s helping or the cool surface of the tool. Honestly, I don’t really care because whichever it is, it works. You can use it as a general tool by itself but it also helps to work serums and oils into the skin. This is so much cheaper than all of the devices out there that promise to tone and slenderize your face but I feel like you get the same result.
Speaking of cool, I have a secret little tip for these products – I love keeping them in the fridge! All three items have the BEST cooling sensation if you use them directly from the fridge. I promise you there is no better feeling than applying these products cold after you’ve washed your face at night. Try it!
