It can be hard (not to mention expensive) to set aside time for a spa day for yourself. But it’s super important – not only for your skin but for your mental health – to regularly practice self care. When you can’t get to a spa, treat yourself to an easy at home spa day.
An at home spa day doesn’t require a lot of money, a lot of products, or a lot of time. I the video below, I’m sharing how to do an easy at home spa day, morning or night, with three products by Joanna Vargas.
Joanna is a NYC/LA based celebrity esthetician. She eventually ended up creating her own range of natural and cruelty free products for her clients and the public. I’ve been to both locations for a facial, and both times I came out with beautiful, glowy skin. AT HOME SPA DAY PRODUCTS
Sheet Masks – I absolutely love Joann Vargas sheet masks. Right now she is selling this Glow to Go sampler box that features five different masks so you can try all of them out. Sheet masks are a super easy way to delivery hydration, vitamins, and serums to your skin due to the direct application. Leave on for 15 – 20 minutes while everything penetrates. I love to put these on at night while I watch TV, or during the day while I work. It’s multitasking at its finest!
Ritual Bar – This little green body and face bar is loaded with good-for-you ingredients. Invigorating green tea helps to stimulate the skin and improve circulation. Coffee extract contains anti-inflammatory properties to help reduce the appearance of redness. It also helps to reduce fat cells, which in turns lessens the appearance of cellulite. Finally, avocado and olive oils provide antioxidants, vitamins, and a surge of moisture of dry and dehydrated skin.
I love that you can use it on your face and/or body, making it super versatile. The hydrating avocado and olive oils make it great to use during winter when the heat is on full blast. You can also try it in the summer when you’re skin is dehydrated from the sun.
Dry Brush – I am relatively new to this concept but have found it so intriguing. Using a dry brush on your skin helps to exfoliate, making it smoother and firmer over time, but it has benefits beyond that. Dry brushing increases circulation to stimulate lymphatic drainage. Say what? Lymphatic drainage is when you stimulate your lymph nodes to eliminate toxins from your body, eliminating puffiness. By using a dry brush on your skin regularly, you can drastically reduce any lymphatic congestion and puffiness, literally giving your skin life from the inside out.
I know you’re probably thinking that you don’t want to add another step into you routine, but Joanna recommends using for as little as 20 – 30 seconds a day just to get your circulation going. It’s as easy as that!
