In case you haven’t noticed, my instant solution to give anything a little bit of an edge is to pair it with a graphic tee.
This white-hot date night look gives off a subtle rocker vibe thanks to my shirt, but also because of the chunk zipper detail on my skirt. Talk about heavy metal. (Sorry, I had to.)

Graphic Tee – Anine Bing (shop more Anine Bing here) | Denim Skirt – Rag & Bone (shop more denim skirts here) | Clutch – Clare V (shop similar below) | White Heels – Zara
I wanted to keep this easy date night look fairly simple so I started with picking a single color palette: white. Since we’re coming up on Memorial Day and the unofficial start to summer, I figured now was as good of a time as ever for head to toe white.
I bought this Anine Bing t-shirt while I was in NYC; she is one of my favorite designers for vintage-style rocker tees without actually using a band name. For graphic tee these are definitely on the pricey side, but considering I wear mine by her at least once a week, I’ve given myself permission to splurge on them.
It’s all about cost per wear for me on these kinds of things. If I spend more on something but wear the living daylights out of it, it’s serving its purpose a lot more than the cheap piece I hardly wear. I’ve learned over the years that spending less on multiple “similar” items is the same thing as spending more money at once on the piece you truly love. This is what I call fashion math. 🙂
Anyway, I toggle between XS and S on her shirts depending on my mood. This is a small in this because I liked it on the oversized side. If you want it more fitted, go down a size. I’ve linked a couple of different places below because man, her stuff sells out quick!
As for my white skirt, you for sure good get away with any old denim skirt here, but I was hooked on this gem from Rag & Bone the second I saw it. I LOVE this zipper up the middle, and it makes this different than just plain white denim. Also, I’m a totally sucker for the raw hem and I think it makes every piece of denim feel effortless. I took my normal denim size here.

This could easily be a daytime look if not for my footwear choice. Strappy, barely-there heeled sandals are having a HUGE moment right now. I didn’t want to invest to heavily into the trend just yet, so for now I opted for these $70 embossed faux-croc sandals from Zara. I love these sandals, but take note that when walking in them, they feel more like a heeled flip-flop since the back strap has elastic.
To add some contrast, I finished my look with some unexpected pattern play here via a leopard print belt and a black fold-over clutch. This clutch is sold out, but I linked a few similar slouchy styles that give off the same look in the shopping carousel.
Here’s to easy date night outfits that leave you feeling confident, cool, and comfortable.
