This is one of my favorite outfits as of late because it’s super effortless but still a bit dressed up.
I’ve been into all things sequin and velvet (both very holiday), so I love that this gold silk blouse feels festive but I can get some extra mileage out of it in the New Year. Although I love shooting all the fun and festive party looks, this California girl feels most comfortable in her jeans.
Have any of you heard of the denim brand A Gold E? I recently discovered them and I really like the way they fit me. The best way to describe the style I’m wearing (called Riley) is almost like a pair of high-rise Levi’s jeans. What I particularly love about these is that they are cut a bit more feminine than other vintage-styled high-rise fits. These jeans fit close to the body, but are by no means tight like a legging. They also aren’t too baggy either. Whenever I see vintage-like jeans, I feel like I always run into one of these problems. Not with this pair! Safe to say I’ll be buying another from this brand soon. Since they’re 100% cotton and have no stretch, I went a size up and they worked for me.
Like I mentioned earlier, I love the versatility in this gold silk blouse. It also comes in white in case you’re not into this color, but I just love it. It’s one of those shirts that works with a nice skirt of a pair of dress pants, but looks totally cool with jeans. You can’t see here, but it’s the perfect length to tuck in without getting too bunched up around your waist, and it still looks nice not tucked. I purchased this Vince blouse when I went on my #treatyoself shopping spree, where I picked up this cozy sweater, too. Now that I’m thinking of it, the two would probably look super cute together. Need to try that.
Anyway, I wanted to keep the cool-girl vibe so I paired it with these sock booties by Jeffrey Campbell. I think these booties are so fun. The silhouette is totally modern and edgy but they aren’t too crazy and really wearable.
I wanted the gorgeousness of the silk blouse to be the star, so I didn’t add any jewelry except this cuff bracelet from Tiffany that Matt gave me for my 30th birthday earlier this year. I always love simple pieces and am not much of a fine jewelry girl. So when I do find a nice piece that’s so wearable, it makes it extra special!
