It’s been a minute since I’ve shared One Piece, Two Ways! Today I’m sharing two ways to style an easy summer staple: the floral midi skirt.
Typically this series has consisted of two back to back posts featuring a single outfit, but today I’m trying something new. Both looks are in this single post today! I figured this would be easier for style reference, but if you prefer the old back to back posts, please let me know!

The Floral Midi Skirt
Like I mentioned above, I’m sharing two ways to wear a floral midi skirt. Both looks are simple, and chances are you probably have all corresponding items in your closet!
This blue floral midi skirt is fun because the wrap element makes it different than your traditional pull-on skirt. There’s a small button to keep it up around your hips, and then you wrap it around your waist and tie it to keep it in place. It’s definitely easy breezy, and great for those super hot summer days.
I love the color of this skirt; it’s not too bright or muted, and the little white daisies add a fun yet neutral pop.
SIZE NOTE: I’m usually a size 4 but found that I needed a medium in this skirt. To me it runs a bit small. So, if you’re in between sizes, go up a size.

Wear it Casual Chic
Chances are you probably have denim jacket and a plain white tee or tank in your closet already. Great! You’re over halfway there to style this floral midi skirt.
I love this look because it’s casual, but still chic and put together. If it’s too hot for your denim jacket, you can always tie it around your waist for more laid back feel.
Madewell always has lightweight, affordable tees and tanks. I like to size up on the tees so that I have some extra “wiggle room” to tie a knot in the front without the shirt getting too tight.
I wanted to keep the accessories fairly neutral, so I went with brown tones to them. This woven bag has been my go-to all summer.
Wear it Sporty
I always love a tomboy edge to anything. Making this floral midi dress instantly sportier is super easy: just add sneakers and a graphic tee.
This white Marc Jacobs crossbody bag has been my go-to whenever I want to make things a little more sporty. The nylon strap and tonal matte white hardware really pack a punch. It’s tiny, but still big enough to hold my essentials like a phone and sunglasses.
Which way to do you prefer: casual chic or sporty?
