YES. FINALLY. Those are the two main words that came to mind last week when I left my house each morning and felt a little chill. In my perfect fall world, the temperature would stop right there for the whole day. Then this morning, I woke up to a weather forecast of over 100 degrees for the next few days. What. Is. Happening?!
So, like a normal girl, I went on a frenzy finding everything I want this season regardless of the current weather situation. There’s some great fall trends this year, and they’ll change depending on who you talk to. Here’s the ones I’m crushing on:
Menswear – this is sort of a no-brainer every fall, but menswear gets me every time. I am a sucker for a good checkered trench. Whereas before you may have paired a button up with some tailored skinny pants, switch them out and go for wide leg pants with sneakers.
Neutral Tones – Camel, nude, and blush get a fall/winter update in heavier fabrics and textures like faux fur or suede. To take your summer nudes into fall, layer them with t-shirts or leather jackets. Brad Goreski even confirmed the nude/blush trend to Giuliana Rancic at the red carpet for the Emmy Awards on Sunday. What Brad says goes, people.

Fall Florals – I know, I know, I never wear floral print. This fall, however, is all about moody florals mixed with black or a dark navy. To me, it’s a little bit Victorian, a little bit goth. I like that it feels a lot more moody than other dainty florals, so I’m on board with this one. At least hop on this trend with cool jacquard print shoes as your accessory.
Metallics – Who says you can’t wear sparkle during the day or that you have save it for New Year’s Eve? Pair your items with casual pieces like sneakers or a graphic tee and jeans. I love the contrast of dressed up metallic and casual jeans – plus it means you can go from day to night quickly and easily. Metallics are everywhere this fall… may I suggest you even dare to mix them?
What are your favorite fall trends that you can’t wait to wear?
