Cute Workout Gear That’ll Make You Want to Go to the Gym

Remember your New Year’s resolution to go to the gym? How’s that going? Now that it’s February I feel like a lot of people have fallen off the wagon without their 2018 workout goals. My spin class seems to be less crowded, and the gym seems quieter. I’m not big on resolutions, but I am big on getting myself to the gym and I try to workout at least 5 days a week. It doesn’t have to be anything crazy; even a 45-minute walk is better than nothing.

Today I’m rounding up super cute workout gear that’ll make you want to actually go to gym.

I find that when I have workout gear that makes me feel good, I tend to want to work out more. There’s always some point in the year where I feel really uninspired to go to the gym and it’s usually because a pair of leggings are worn down or a shirt is a little too sadly wilted and has lost its shape.

Long gone are the days of boring black leggings and a baggy t-shirt. Have you noticed lately that gym clothes are so cute you may want to wear them outside of the gym? A lot of stores are popping up IRL and online featuring cute, curated fitness gear that’s also highly technical. My favorite spots are Carbon38 and Bandier. You used to have decided between function or fashion at the gym, but there’s so many brands out there that combine both. Mixing fitness and my love of fashion? A BIG yes in my book. Plus, the good news is that there’s always cute workout gear, even well into the year! You don’t have to just get it during “resolution time.” 😉

Here’s a round up of some of my current faves:

These glossy leggings by Carbon38 are a great alternative to basic black and add a little something to your workout look. Also, this backpack just got marked down on super sale. It’s compact enough to fit into a locker but surprisingly holds a lot. There’s an elastic panel inside of it to section off sneakers and keep them separate from clothes. It’s also super chic, so you can use it as an actual bag when you’re going form gym class to brunch.

P.S. When scoping workout gear with a high price tag, don’t get sticker shock. Think about the cost per wear with the item. If you truly love a piece and it makes you feel confident, you’re going to want to work out in it, and chances are you’ll probably wear it once a week. Chances also are that this is probably more than the expensive heels you thought you needed, that are in the back of your closet. If you wouldn’t think twice about designer denim but you’re holding back on leggings, why? If you wear them just as much as the jeans then you’re fine! (A tip from me to you, from experience.)
