Back in May I saw Anine Bing speak with my friend Kelly from She Went West. I was already familiar with Anine’s namesake company, and I already followed her on Instagram. Once I saw her in real life though, she instantly became my girl crush.

I’ll spare you the details of the panel but long story short, she felt so passionately about creating a brand that she did everything she could to get it off the ground. She talked about hard work and teaming up with people that you trust to build a brand, but one thing really struck a chord with me: if there is something, no matter what it is, that you feel so passionate about, you have to pursue it and do it. That there will be hard days and good days but if you’re crazy in love with something, that it’s worth it because you will feel fulfilled. She also more or less talked about how people won’t always understand you or what you’re doing, but to do you if it makes you happy.
If you’re a newer to follower, I left my full-time job back in February to pursue Charmed by Camille, so hearing this a couple of months into my new 24/7 blogger life kind of gave me that extra nudge and confidence that I wasn’t totally crazy for taking a chance on myself.
It’s safe to say since then I’ve been following her brand a lot more closely and have become obsessed with just about everything they create, including this exact look that she wore in a post earlier this summer.
Anine’s pieces are meant to be seasonless, which I really love. So instead of new collections 4 times a year, there are monthly drops to keep things fresh. The brand has mix and match items with rock n’ roll inspired t-shirts, jeans, and every now and then super statement items like these super fun leopard print silk shorts (there’s a matching blazer, too). Think elevated basics with a cool-girl twist.
At the panel, she was black and leopard print with a pop of red with her bag, so I decided to follow suit here with the same color palette with this under $200 Rebecca Minkoff cross body bag. I wanted to keep the attention on these killer shorts so there on these easy Tretorn white canvas sneakers.
I figured now was as good as time as ever to share with you some of Anine Bing’s pieces that I’m currently obsessed with. I mean, if I’m not going to write about her brand when I’m wearing a full look by her, then when?
Wait what?! You met her?! So cool! I am obsessed with Anine Bing too from her effortless style to her hair to everything she makes. I love the slight rock and roll edge like you do and how her pieces are quality made but also not too out there as pricing goes. I have some tees from her and need this one too! I just need to get everything from her shop! Xoxo, Christine
