Comfortable Thanksgiving Outfits: 1 Piece, 2 Ways #1

Welcome to One Piece, Two Ways Thanksgiving edition! In honor of my favorite holiday where I always overdo it on stuffing, I’m showcasing not one, but two comfortable Thanksgiving outfits. The star of this month’s series? Leggings, of course!

Ready to be comfy and fashionable at your T-Day dinner? Let’s go!

I’m just going to get this out of the way now: when it comes to comfortable Thanksgiving outfits, nothing compares to leggings. Okay, except maybe pajamas.

THE LEGGINGS

I saw these embossed snakeskin leggings on my friend Amanda during fashion week and I knew instantly that these would be my-go to for Turkey Day. I mean, all of the comfort of leggings, but with a major fashion statement? Yes please! Like, I’m low key obsessed with these.

For starters, these are high-rise so you don’t have to worry about a muffin top (or in this case, pumpkin pie top). Inside, there’s a little panel connected to the waistband – almost like control-top tights – that keeps everything flat and sucked in around the tummy. This is v important for Thanksgiving dinner, obviously. The inside leg portion is also lined, so you’re not going to run into a weird sticky situation since these are faux leather.

Since these leggings have an embossed effect over the snake print, they honestly look more like leather pants than they do leggings. AKA totally appropriate to wear to someone’s house this Thanksgiving. Trust me, sis. Nobody will know, and you’ll be so comfortable.

SIZE NOTE: I took my normal size and wearing a small. These felt very tight at first, but then molded to my body after about an hour. I recommend wearing these a bit before you go to your dinner, just so that they can warm up to your body.

THE REST OF THE LOOK

Thanksgiving dress codes vary and today I opted for more of a casual vibe. I picked up this tan Topshop sweater to match with the nude shades in the leggings, and I really like how it turned out.

This is oversized so I went TTS (in a small) and then gave a little tuck in the front of the leggings. To tie everything together – literally – I added an easy third piece to complete the look, my denim jacket.

I love the look of something tied around my waist with leggings, but if you want to skip the jacket the sweater will still cover most of your bum.

Since this is for a Friendsgiving or casual dinner, I opted for sneakers, but you could also do flat booties here!

Check tomorrow’s One Piece, Two Ways post where I take these same leggings and style them for a slightly dressier, equally comfy Thanksgiving outfit.
