Today I’m talking black for spring. Some would argue that black is better for colder weather. I’m here to tell you that while *those* people are trying to avoid the dark shade completely until September, it’s perfectly acceptable to keep wearing it all spring (and summer) long.
Even though you can really pick any piece (a jumpsuit, pants, a skirt, whatevsss), my preference is the dress.
The 2 key factors to wearing black when the weather is warm are these: 1. make sure you get lightweight fabrics that breathe in the heat, and 2. find cuts that make sense for the season. I like to look for dresses that are flowy and loose with a silky feel. If you want something a little structured, look for a cotton eyelet fabric – it will keep it’s shape but still be airy.
