I’m kind of obsessed with this BB Dakota jacket and skirt. This outfit is just the right amount of cozy, touches a little bit on the western trend, and pretty affordable.

This jacket is one of the softest things I have ever owned. When I unboxed it last month, Audrey immediately ran over and laid on it because it’s that snuggly. It’s fun to wear with a skirt like this one (faux leather and also by BB Dakota) but this jacket is also a really easy layering piece to pair with jeans or even leggings. It adds just the right amount of cozy!
Earlier this week I shared a post on how to turn the western runway trend into real life by incorporating simple details and fabrics. I’ve been really into the trend and in my opinion one of the easiest and most wearable ones for real life. I’ve had this bolo style necklace from Madwell for quite awhile and I just randomly bought it because I thought it was different. But now it’s perfect for this trend happening right now! To get the full western effect, button up your shirt like I did hear and wear it like an actual bolo tie.
My mini skirt is faux leather and also comes in black. I have to say, I normally gravitate towards black, but I loved the shade of this almost rust color (my new fave color for fall). FYI, it’s a little short. I’m 5’4” – so if you’re tall you’ll probably need tights, I’m wearing my normal size 4 here but probably could’ve gone up a size.
You can totally mix shades of brown, which is what I did here between my hat, my little Chloe bag, and this skirt. It makes it less matchy matchy but everything still complements the next piece.
