Happy August! This month’s edition of fashion finds under $200 is a bit delayed (oops) but better late than never, right? I know nobody wants to say it out loud but once August hits, brains kind of automatically start to think of fall. Look, I want to embrace summer as long as I can, but I also want you to be prepared come that random chilly day in September. (Not in LA though, because apparently our summers now last until Thanksgiving).
I didn’t want to go to crazy by showing you things that are totally irrelevant for right now, so you’re not going to see any bulky sweaters or things that will make you hot just looking them. Today’s post features great summer to fall transitional pieces that you could very well wear now, but also as the days start to cool. And of course, like always, everything here is under $200. Heck, I may even change these posts to be under $100 because almostevery single today is under on Benjamin.
If you’ve seen this series before, then you know what to do. If you’re new around here (hi!) then know that you can click on any item in the collage below and it’ll take you directly to the page to shop. BOOM.
First things first; I’ve been rocking this $55 denim mink skirt all summer and it’s been my saving grace when I want some denim, but don’t want to throw on shorts. This is kind of a no brainer to explain, because you can just wear this instead of shorts. I’m a huge fan of sneakers with skirts, so throw on a pair of white tennis shoes once sandal season is over and pair with a denim jacket for a v cute denim on denim look.
Onto more denim… these Levi’s are a GREAT find at just under $100. They’re 100% cotton, so you absolutely have to go up one size (maybe two). I bought these maybe two years ago (?) and they are classics. Not too dark, not too light, and so they’ll go with anything. I love the raw hem at the bottom, and the good news is if you need to hem them, you can just cut ‘em and nobody will know. I am 5’4” and did not have to cut anything, just FYI for length reference.

Okay, so a white t-shirt really isn’t that groundbreaking, but I love Madewell t-shirts and for a long time they only made v-neck tees. So to me, this crewneck version is a great find. And I mean, how timeless is a white tee with the Levi’s jeans I mentioned above?
A black jumpsuit is so versatile, and you can wear it year-round. Wear it now with flat sandals and a cute straw hat for a cute farmer’s market look, or take it into fall with some heels and a jacket for an easy dinner. I’ve even worn a black jumpsuit to a wedding before! I’m telling you, this baby is an investment piece without an investment price (only $98)!
Little accessories can make or break an outfit and I have been looking for a coin pendant necklace all summer. It makes for a cute look worn alone or layered with other stuff. I’m also very into this cross body bag by Rebecca Minkoff. My mother-law-surprised me with it when she visited last month. The off white is perfect after Labor Day and into winter since it’s not a super bright white. Okay, I even cringed just typing “winter”.
