There are few things I love more than a leather jacket look when it comes to effortless dressing.
For me, my fail-proof uniform when I’m feeling particularly blah, fat, or uninspired, is basically this look right here.
I normally don’t share what I do or have done for work, but I used to do ecommerce for 3 different denim brands. So, I’m kind of a denim snob and jeans are my life. I work in the beauty industry now, but I love a good pair of denim. When Matt and I were putting an addition in to our home, we added a closet. The company we used put in special square shelving from top to bottom so that I can fold stacks of jeans into each square! It’s pretty cool.
Anyway, these A Gold E high waist jeans have been on repeat pretty much since the say I bought them. #Sorrynotsorry if you’re sick of them by now, because I’m not. They’re rigid cotton denim which gives them a cool 90s vibe and they fit me better than some of my stretchy jeans. I mean if the shoe fits, right?
Let’s talk about leather jackets. True, a leather jacket is quite and investment and the super buttery leather kind like my J Brand one here is always more dough. I have to say, if you spend time finding one that fits you well around the shoulders and at the hips, you’ll have it forever. A black leather jacket and a good fit never go out of style.
My favorite way to wear one is definitely like this. However, I’ve styled dresses and even night out gowns with a leather jacket to toughen the look up a bit. (Full disclosure, I used to work for J Brand so I was lucky enough to utilize my employee discount on this piece – but I’ve had it for over 3 years!) I’ve linked a handful of my favorites below that are a little more affordable.
So there you have it folks. When in doubt, or feeling not too hot about yourself or your closet, you just need the following:
- A leather jacket
- Jeans that make you feel like a million bucks
- A t-shirt
Badass attitude comes automatically and free after applying the above to the body. 😉
